Global PPP leaders gathered in Istanbul for the 9th PPP Week — a key moment for rethinking infrastructure, sustainability, and innovation. With over 65 countries represented, the event spotlighted resilient partnerships and new PPP frontiers.
From February 24 to 27, the 9th edition of Istanbul PPP Week brought together over 65 countries, 37 PPP Units, and more than 80 expert speakers to explore how Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) can drive sustainable, inclusive, and cost-effective development.
Organised by the Istanbul PPP Center of Excellence (PPPCoE), the event has become a pivotal global platform for public and private actors, development banks, researchers, and practitioners to exchange ideas, insights, and innovations in the PPP space.
This year’s theme — “Doing More with Less” — reflected the growing need to deliver impact efficiently, especially in sectors such as healthcare, education, green infrastructure, and digital transformation.
Nasser Massoud, Founder and Managing Director of Concept Realisation, was among the invited thought leaders and played a prominent role throughout the event:
- As panelist on “The Leadership of PPP Transition: Paradigm Shift, Digitisation & AI”, he shared insights on how data, AI, and stakeholder dynamics are reshaping infrastructure delivery.
- He also moderated the session “Doing More with Less in Healthcare PPPs”, reflecting Concept Realisation’s field leadership in social sector partnerships.
- As an active member of the World Association of PPP Units & Professionals (WAPPP), Nasser reconnected with global peers to explore new opportunities and challenges in the sector.
A major highlight of the Forum was the announcement of a Global PPP Think Tank, launched in collaboration with UNECE, aiming to bridge academic insight with real-world PPP implementation. Other strategic themes included:
- Climate-aligned PPPs and ESG integration
- Innovative financing and blended capital
- PPPs for healthcare, digital public services, and sustainable mobility
- The growing role of smaller-scale and socially-driven PPPs
Attendees also learned about tools such as PIERS (for assessing SDG alignment) and the Blue Dot Network — an emerging ESG certification framework for infrastructure.
“What makes PPP Week Istanbul truly unique is not just the panels — it’s the spirit of community and exchange among professionals who care about making impact real,” Nasser shared.
The event once again demonstrated that PPPs are no longer only about infrastructure. They are about resilience, inclusion, and delivering better lives — smarter, together.
